The city of Springfield has announced who it plans to nominate to be the new Director of the Office of Planning and Economic Development.
The city plans on nominating Amy Rasing, according to a news release issued Tuesday.
The news comes after current director Val Yazell announced her retirement at the end of the year.
Rasing for over a year has worked for the city in the role of Grants Operations Coordinator.
Rasing has been “instrumental in securing several grant opportunities, demonstrating a visionary approach to advancing Springfield’s planning and economic development initiatives,” a news release said.
An ordinance will be presented for first reading at Tuesday’s city council meeting to appoint Rasing to the position.

I am confident that Amy will continue to advance Springfield’s goals and create new opportunities for growth.”
